National Mining Hall of Fame Inductions Scheduled for October 23, 2021
The National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum (NMHFM) is pleased to announce the 2021 National Mining Hall of Fame Induction Banquet will be held at the Westin Denver International Airport hotel on October 23. Please note this is a different venue than was previously announced in some places. The gala event will begin at 6:00 p.m. with a cocktail reception. Dinner will begin at 7:00 p.m. Beginning immediately following the inductions will be a Young Professionals After-Party. Dress for the banquet is Business Formal.
This year’s inductees, selected by the National Mining Hall of Fame’s Board of Governors, are being honored for setting new and uniform standards and improving existing processes for feasibility studies and resource/reserve estimation, executive contributions and proactive leadership in safety and diversity, innovative practical application of geostatistics, and lifetime contributions to the education of many of the world’s leading mining industry professionals. The 2021 inductees are Dr. Richard L. Bullock, Gary J. Goldberg, Harry M. Parker, and Raja V. Ramani.
The Prazen Living Legend of Mining Award, named for renowned mining artist Gary Prazen, will also be presented at the ceremony. This award recognizes an individual or organization for significant and sustained commitment to educating the public about the relationship of mining to our everyday lives through educational materials, programming, and outreach. This year the award will be presented to Elizabeth J. B. (Liz) Arnold.
Sponsors for the event include Newmont, Rio Tinto, the National Mining Association, and the World Gold Council. Additional sponsorships, particularly table sponsorships, are still available. Contact Landry Harris, Events Manager, at Landry@MiningHallOfFame.org for details.
Individual tickets for the banquet are $250, with reduced pricing of $125 for Young Professionals (under 35). A table for 10 attendees is $2,500 or a sponsored table for 10 is $4,000. Part of the price of each ticket or sponsorship is tax-deductible and helps support the operations of the National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum, located in Leadville, CO.
Since 1987, the NMHFM has been a national monument to the men and women who champion the discovery, development, and processing of our nation’s natural resources, as well as a national institution educating the public about the undeniable relationship of mining to our daily lives.
