SME's New York section to host third annual Thought Leaders in Mining symposium

On Tuesday Dec. 13 SME’s New York Section will host the third annual Thought Leaders in Mining symposium. There is no charge for this event that will feature many industry leading experts who will discuss the extractive industries' efforts to manage and de-risk geological, technical, technology, human and financial capital and regulatory issues with ever-changing and varied ESG, social license regulations. The symposium will examine expectations and macro-economic, geopolitical and jurisdictional risks as they seek investment and to attract human and investment capital to finance exploration, development, and operation of critical, precious, industrial and construction minerals.

This NY SME event will help inform all industry leaders, owners, miners, board members, investors, policy makers, stakeholders, communities, financiers and consumers.

The speakers are many world leading industry, finance, technical, legal advisors who evaluate, de-risk and fund mining projects, and senior policy officials from the government of Germany, province of Quebec and the United States Department of Energy (DOE) Vehicle Technologies Office (VTO) who develop and advance policies that impact and support global mineral supply chains.

Also hear senior officers from the National Aeronautics & Space Administration (NASA) and United States Geological Survey (USGS) discuss new opportunities for public-private partnerships with mining industries to leverage their experience and expertise with mining technologies being used in extreme environments and remote locations, similar to conditions in the lunar environment.
