Weir Minerals has announced Ermanno Simonutti as the newly appointed regional managing director for Weir Minerals North America and Charlie Stone as divisional vice president sales and business development – mill circuit, effective May 1, 2021.

Ermanno is transitioning from his position as vice president global sales for Weir ESCO, where he spent the past 23 years in various roles, including managing director ESCO Europe, vice president products & marketing, and other senior positions in sales, engineering and product management.

“With Ermanno’s extensive background in the mining sector, his knowledge of the North American region and his experience of leading a successful global customer business, I know he will lead the North American business to continued success,” said Weir Minerals divisional president Ricardo Garib.

As the regional managing director, Ermanno will lead one of Weir Minerals’ largest regions, with more than 1,200 employees serving the mining, oil sands, power, and industrial sectors.

Current regional managing director Charlie Stone will be appointed to divisional vice president sales and business development – mill circuit. Serving as the RMD for Weir Minerals North America for the past four years, Charlie has built a strong North American team, increased focus on customer relationships, and led a strong increase in sales and profit for the business.
