Notice of public meeting and reopening of the record MSHA’s request for information on refuge alternatives for underground coal mines

On September 18, 2015, MSHA will publish a notice in the Federal Register announcing a public meeting to gather information on issues and options relevant to miners’ escape and refuge. The public meeting will be held at MSHA’s National Mine Health Safety Academy in Beaver, West Virginia on October 19, 2015, beginning with Registration at 1:00 p.m. and concluding when the last speaker has spoken. The notice will be available for viewing on September 17 at 8:45 a.m. at the Office of the Federal Register, Public Inspection Desk: http://www.federalregister.gov/inspection.aspx. MSHA will accept written responses, data, and information for the record from any interested party, including those not participating in the public meeting through November 16, 2015.
