Slide and Bingham Canyon Mine will be featured at SME meeting in Salt Lake City

When SME's 2014 Annual Meeting kicks off in Salt Lake City on Sunday, Feb. 23 the more than 5,500 industry professionals that are expected to in attendance will find more than 700 technical presentations covering every aspect of the mining and minerals industry including two session with a local focus on the massive landslide at Kennecott Copper's Bingham Canyon Mine near Salt Lake City.

On Monday afternoon the first session, Kennecott Copper's Manefay Slide, Part 1, will be chaired by Brad Ross of Kennecott Copper at 2 pm.

On Friday, Feb. 21 the Salt Lake Tribune (http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/money/57574638-79/mining-mine-society-slide.html.csp) reported about the upcoming annual meeting, focusing on the slide at Bingham Canyon as well as the new Boy Scout merit badge that will be unveiled at the meeting
