Drivers of impact assessments: Human health, safety and the environment

What is the primary function of an impact assessment? Many people at the International Association of Impact Assessment’s (IAIA) annual conference said that it is time to return to the fundamentals and consider the underlying drivers of impact assessments – human health, safety and security. This fall, managers struggling with those fundamentals will receive extra support when a new course focusing on health and socially responsible security is launched online and in British Columbia, Canada, home to many of the world’s junior miners.
