Svedala Bulk-Materials Handling seminar highlights latest technology

The handling of bulk materials at power plants and to unload ships is one area where advanced technology has helped companies reduce costs. Computerization of stacker/reclaimers, grab unloaders, rail car dumpers and positioners, and other types of bulk materials handling equipment has increased the throughput of these machines. Advanced electronics and other innovations have improved maintenance efficiency by identifying potential problems before they shut down an operation. And worker safety has been greatly improved by removing the operator from potentially dangerous situations.
