Mining Foundation of the Southwest honors its 2004 inductees

 The 22nd Annual American Mining Hall of Fame Awards Banquet sponsored by the Mining Foundation of the Southwest will be held at the Westin La Paloma in Tucson, AZ on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004.

This year’s inductee, guest of honor and featured speaker at the banquet will be J. Steven Whisler, chairman and chief executive officer of Phelps Dodge. Whisler is also a director of Phelps Dodge, Burlington Northern Santa Fe, America West Holdings, the National Mining Association, the International Copper Association and the Copper Development Association.
