Repair the fan, save money

Mining Engineering , 2005, Vol. 57, No. 12, pp. 31-31
Kuli, Thomas J.; Rape, Tim

PREVIEW:

When a fan or blower breaks down or becomes worn, customers have two choices. They can replace it or they can have it repaired. In the past, replacement was the preferred option, especially when the equipment was severely damaged or worn. Now, however, customers are discovering the benefits of repairing or rebuilding. Even when the cost of repair is more than 60 percent of the cost of a new fan, customers are choosing the repair option. The cost savings can range from 20 percent to 80 percent.
