At the conclusion of the MINEXCHANGE 2022 SME Annual Conference in Salt Lake City, UT Ron Parratt began his term as the 2022 SME President.
Parratt is the former executive chairman of Renaissance Gold Inc. He brings a wealth of experience to the role of President of the Society that has been a consistent part of his professional career since he became a member in 1974 while working for Stauffer Chemical Co. out of Richmond, CA. He was encouraged to join SME by his first boss and became a member of SME shortly after he earned a B.S. in geochemistry from Purdue University, the same university where he would later earn a M.S. in economic geology.
