As underground mining operations around the world are going deeper, and the working conditions in those mines are becoming more complex, an increasing number of those operations have turned to battery-electric vehicles. The zeroemission vehicles can help provide a solution to
many of the most pressing issues of underground mining, including worker health and safety, improved productivity and efficiency and, in some cases, like the Borden Mine in Canada, electrification helped earn the social licence to operate. But electrification of a fleet of equipment is not a one-size-fits-all solution.
