ABSTRACT:
Most precipitation/dissolution, all of the preferential flow phenomena discussed can be captured in a numerical model that is based on mass-balance principles. The authors used a multiphase flow and transport model, called the finite element heat and mass (FEHM) transport model (developed by Los Alamos National Laboratories). This model simulated flow and tracer transport in typical heaps.
