Homestake's Ruby Hill Mine: a case study on how to streamline the NEPA process

Homestake Mining’s Ruby Hill Mine is located in Eureka County, NV, about 2.5 km (1.5 miles) northwest of the town of Eureka. The entire permitting program for the project was completed in approximately two years, with construction starting in February 1997. The NEPA process for this mine was completed within 18 months during this overall permitting period.
