Analytical method for predicting filling rates of mining pit lakes: example from the Getchell Mine, Nevada

Shevenell, L.

ABSTRACT:
Mines in Nevada have produced a variety of metals, including gold, silver, copper, iron, lead, tungsten and zinc. As mining of precious metals becomes more economical, lower concentrations of metals in ore deposits can be mined profitably. Low concentrations (0.7 g/t or 0.02 oz/st gold) can be mined economically from bulk minable deposits. So large open pit mines continue to be developed.
