The removal of radionuclides from aqueous solutions has been studied extensively since their existence became an environmental issue. Natural and artificial zeolites are the most commonly used materials to adsorb radionuclides. This is due to their high resistance to radiation, good ion-exchange capacity and possible selectivity and specificity.
