$4K by 40 Challenge Match offered through May 2026

The $4K by 40 Challenge was designed to encourage philanthropic giving by young professionals to promote the mining industry and the outreach goals of the SME Foundation (SMEF). Member contributions are tracked and those donating $4,000 or more cumulatively to the SMEF’s programs by their 40th birthday are honored for their contributions and commitment to the industry. The 2025 $4K by 40 Challenge Award recipient is Brianna Drury. She is recognized for her generosity and support of the SMEF. We congratulate her for reaching her milestone this year.We would also like to acknowledge previous $4K by 40 Challenge Award recipients for their support of the SMEF: Drew Mason, Matthew Ulizio, Joshua A. Patterson, Matthew Furniss, Thomas C. Rauch, Peter & Jenessa Haarala, Ryan M. Murray, Sam Baker, Michael & Jennifer Deal, Rosa Maria Rojas Espinoza, Troy Liddell and Kat Tew. To encourage more young members to donate, Brooks & Nelson has pledged a $4K by 40 match through the end of May 2026. All donations made by members under the age of 40 will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $6,000.Thank you to Brooks & Nelson for your support of this program. Brooks & Nelson LLC, a woman-owned, global human resource management and recruiting consulting firm based in Golden, CO is a long-time supporter of SME and the SMEF. All donors under the age of 40 are encouraged to set up a monthly, recurring gift based on how many months are left until they reach the age of 40. Donors have the flexibility to choose the allocation of which SMEF program they wish to support. Donations made will be jointly eligible for this challenge, the $1K Club and the John T.
