Two-seam mining stability OCI's Big Island trona mine

Mining Engineering, 2000, Vol. 52, No. 4, pp. 8-12
Agapito, J.F.T.; Goodrich, R.R.; Andrews, M.L.

PREVIEW:
OCI Wyoming mines two flat-lying trona seams that are 3- to 3.5-m- (10- to 11.5-ft-) thick, about 10 m (33 ft) apart and 250-m- (820-ft-) deep at its Big Island Mine in Wyoming. Continuous miners and a yielding-pillar system have contributed to improvements in resource recovery and productivity.
