Reopening the Bendigo goldfield in Victoria, Australia

PREVIEW:

The Bendigo goldfield was discovered in 1851. The mine ceased production 45 years ago after producing about 684 t (22 million oz) during its 103-year life. This places it among the top 10 historic gold producers. Figure 1 shows Bendigo’s historic production.
